AIVRT x WHO World Immunization Week 2025

Under the banner, 'Immunization for All is Humanly Possible', World Immunization Week 2025 (24 to 30 April 2025) aimed to ensure even more children, adolescents, adults, and their communities are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccines are proof that less disease, more life is possible when we put our minds to it. Throughout the week, AIVRT PhDs collectively executed a program of public outreach aligned to the WHO banner theme and AIVRT’s project goals across many social media channels.

Vaccines are one of humanity’s most outstanding achievements. Since 1974, they’ve saved 154 million lives – that’s more than 3 million lives a year or six people every minute for five decades. During the same period, vaccination has reduced infant mortality by 40%, and more children now live to see their first birthday and beyond than at any other point in human history. The measles vaccine alone accounts for 60% of those lives saved.

Throughout the week, AIVRT PhDs and Postdocs explored and advocated a range of themes, including vaccines, immunization, and healthy living. They emphasised the critical importance of equity and access to vaccines and healthcare for everyone. Discussions also highlighted current and future developments in the field, along with straightforward practical ideas and strategies that individuals can adopt to safeguard public health.

AIVRT PhDs and Postdocs invite you to take a moment to review our latest research project outputs shared on social media. Dive into the content and join us on a journey as we explore many areas and levels of vital research. AIVRT appreciates you joining a conversation that matters and connecting with others who share our interests.
